APF Factory (Michael Schumacher Royal Oak Offshore) makes its stunning debut. The Michael Schumacher Royal Oak Offshore chronograph watch developed by Audemars Piguet features a 44mm case diameter, available in three materials: platinum, rose gold and titanium. Thickness 16.6mm, black rubber strap with groove decoration giving the watch an overall extreme sports style. Although this Michael Schumacher limited edition watch retains the iconic Royal Oak Offshore silhouette, its case is in fact specially made. The one-piece octagonal bezel uses Cermet ultra-wear-resistant ceramic metal, seven times more durable than steel, secured by eight automotive-style arched flush screws. The watch also features a uniquely designed rubber strap (grey for the titanium and rose gold models, blue for the platinum model), connected by micro-bead-blasted and satin-brushed titanium links, designed to mimic a race car’s cooling intake. The micro-bead-blasted crown (in titanium, rose gold or white gold) is shaped like a gear, decorated with a red anodized aluminum plate engraved with the Audemars Piguet logo. Micro-bead-blasted titanium guards protect the polished black ceramic chronograph pushers, whose tops are made of titanium, white gold or rose gold. A date window with red Arabic numerals is positioned at 3 o’clock, designed to enhance readability, with a black background consistent with the other sub-dials. The 6 o’clock position houses a 12-hour chronograph sub-dial, the 9 o’clock position a 30-minute chronograph sub-dial — the red hands contrasting sharply with the black dial and white scales, further increasing readability. The 12 o’clock position is the small seconds sub-dial; like the other two sub-dials, the red hand stands out against the black dial. The scale inside the bezel can be used for tachymetry — an indispensable function in racing watches. The movement uses 7750 modified to cal.3126/3840 chronograph movement with small seconds at 12 o’clock, 12-hour chronograph at 6 o’clock and 30-minute chronograph at 9 o’clock, perfectly restoring all the original functions. After precise finishing by the JJF team, the stability of the 7750 base movement is greatly improved, easing the long-standing embarrassment of chronograph models that only look the part!
